I have no idea what or when my first post was but I do know that I lurked for a very long time before getting up the nerve to join in. Much the same with the meet ups - I bottled several before I finally went to one.

That was an amazing gig. So much fun. Lee invited me to go with her, not really knowing me at all and I am forever grateful for that. Cornwallshire. Carnglaze. www.youtube.com/user/EmbraceOfficialThat looked amazing.

It really was. When people say the band don't do enough for fans I'm mindful of SG17. The choir. The mince pies. The band knocking themselves out to decorate the stage. Other family members makimg sure we all had song sheets. Never has anything made me feel as Christmassy as this.

I have never felt more festive than SG17 made me feel, ever! And the gig itself was just amazing. Some great memories were made those few days.

No band that I have ever been heavily into has given even half as much back to their fans as Embrace. Obviously when they do intimate gigs or secret gigs, they have to be exclusive to some extent, that's the whole point of them. Sadly that means some people are going to feel excluded from time to time but I cannot believe anyone ever questions the band's motives or thinks they are trying to do anything other than give something back to us. Someone was on Facebook last week kicking off about the two gigs last week, I understood the bloke's disappointment at not being there but really didn't understand his attitude. Anyway, I reckon everyone gets the chance to go to an SG or two at some point if they are arsed enough.

My first post was September 2004. I had just won tickets on the radio to go and see Embrace in Manchester and was asking if anyone knew of any good pubs near the venue. That's how I ended up at my first meet-up and have never looked back since!
