Ugh - seriously? It's congealed dried blood with a bit of chili in. How can something like that ever sound enticing??
* Off to be sick *

My aunty Kit used to have me hold the bucket under the pig as its throat was cut so she could make huge trays of black pudding. Might sound gruesome but these were pigs that'd had a great life right up until the moment it was time to eat them.

Black pudding tastes lovely, I can't imagine chilli black pudding tasting bad.

If you're going to kill an animal for its meat you owe it to it to the animal to eat every part of it possible. I'd be alright with fur if the whole animal was used and IF it had a fair and good life prior to its death.
Back to Aunty Kit - she used to say you should use every part of the pig except its squeak.

I'm not a fan of black pudding but I did have some fancy type off Natasha while I was over at hers and it was delicious. I think chili would improve almost anything though.

I agree with you Deb, use the whole thing and all that. I hardly ever eat meat, like almost never. But with regards to the black pudding thing, I could simply not bring myself to put lumps of dried blood and fat in my mouth and chew. Just couldn't do it. It's not because I think of the animal it came from, it's that it just is mind bogglingly disgusting to me. I am somewhat squeamish though. Ugh. Perhaps I shouldn't look at this thread anymore!

I understand that Shaz! I've never been particularly squeamish and grew up on black pudding with a full English so the thought doesn't even enter my head because I know it tastes good. Completely get why some people would be put off!!
