Is anyone going to the Simple Things Festival in Bristol next month? Jon Hopkins is playing and I want to see him again! He was so good in Manchester.

Goldheart Assembly, Suede, Steve Mason and Roddy Frame. Also considering going to see Vampire Weekend, are they a good live band? Me and Lyds saw them about five years ago and they were good. I can't imagine they've got worse in that time.

Was surprised to see they're playing arenas, I know they're popular but didn't realise they are that big.

We saw them in front of about 500-600 at Bristol University when they only had one album. I only got into that because of the Embrace board.

Contemplating going to watch Chvrches in Bristol later this month as Thumpers are supporting. Have to see if we can get a babysitter first though.

Tomorrow I am going to our local indie cinema from a Q&A and film with Jon Otway, I can't bloody wait.
Haven't got a proper gig until Jagwa Ma next Monday, the Chvches and Thumpers the next day. But this past weekend was pretty special, a bunch of us went to Sofar Sounds all day thingy in Bow, 10 bands, including Thumpers, who I love to pieces anyways. Highlight other than Thumpers were Cracked Beak, think Lemonheads meets Drenge.
Then last night, three of us went to a tiny, dingy pub in Brixton for a very special Vaccines gig, to celebrate three years since their first gig there. It was so brilliant, very hot and sweaty, loud as anything, amazing energy and my face still hurts from smiling, and to top it all Faris from The Horrors was DJing, such a brilliant evening.

Autumn is so great for gigs. Most recently I've seen Local Natives, Jagwar Ma and Warpaint. All of them brilliant.
