So, does it seem Embrace have entered another (unannounced) hiatus? Could the secret gig in September be a farewell show?
Danny has seemingly got hitched and fucked off out of the country, the rest of the band have formed another band with another singer and Mickey has also got another band on the go. The initial talk of working on another album seems to have been abandoned. Danny was the one who called time on the band originally, and had to be cajoled into reforming (don't tell me they didn't split up!). He was still having major problems vocal wise, to the point of having to have Richard co-sing everything live, and even had Richard do lead vocals on the comback single (Yeah, I know about Hooligan!). So what do people reckon? It can't have been fun touring knowing you cannot sing by yourself anymore (and this is a problem going back from before the band originally ended, on one of the last toured he was miming), and the album seemed very downbeat llike it wasn't written from a happy place.

Was thinking the same thing, no warm up shows announced before the secret gig either.
Whats the name of the band Richard and the others are working with?

I'd expect there to be some warm-up shows announced closer to the date. And this was in the Observer yesterday: "Among the other famous names who agreed to pose for Brown are the presenter and vocal coach Carrie Grant; the lead singer of the indie group Embrace, Danny McNamara; This Morning presenter Anna Williamson; former Coronation Street actress Georgia Taylor; and singer-songwriter Sandi Thom. All of them are fellow sufferers. Brown’s painting of McNamara is set to go on the cover of Embrace’s next album." www.theguardian.com/society/2016/may/14/art-depression-mental-health-alastair-campbellSo there would seem to be some activity underway.
