I know that nobody's here anymore, but I needed to speak my mind somewhere, and I have no desire to post it to the menkos on Facebook. I kept writing for a while once I got going, and you can see the long-winded result here if you want.If anyone else happens to see this thread in the next few days before the album drops, what are you expecting? Are you holding out hope for tracks 4-9? Do you think there'll be B-sides?

I have pretty high hopes for the rest of the album tbh. The snippets on the announcement trailer show promise and the live version of where you sleeping sounds very good, love how the song builds. I think this will be a solid album with no fillers, a bit like Out of Nothing.
On another note, is this getting released on the 2nd as some of the Internet including ITunes say the 9th?

It'll definitely be released on the 2nd, this Friday, yeah.
I've held out on listening to that Where You Sleeping bootleg, people seem to love it though. All That Remains sounds like it'll be good too.

Cool, not long to wait then. I do rate the four songs they have released, had a long time to get familiar with Love is a Basic Need since the EP, wasn't sure about it for a long time, but has really grown on me lately with the new album looming. Wish I could see them late March/April but in America when all the shows are taking place.

Yeah, me too. Well, I'm in America all the time, but still. I hope they find a way to come over here at some point again.

Listened to the album twice since coming in from work last night and I really like the 6 unheard tracks, very Embrace at their most heart wrenching especially Danny's vocals, which I prefer compared to the mixed bag of self titled and This New Day. To listen to all 10 tracks as a complete album this is a very strong album, maybe not The Good Will Out or Out of Nothing, but on early impressions this would be placed third out of the 7 albums and a return to classic Embrace. At the moment I'd say 'All that Remains' & 'My luck comes in threes' are the standout of the new tracks, but still love Where you Sleeping and lives up to the live version doing the rounds, Richard's vocals on this really are something, very fragile and emotional.
Its good to have them back doing what they do best.

My favourite so far has to be Snake Oil, followed by Rabbit Hole, and Never, I love the last two minutes of Snake Oil.

Listened all weekend, love it. Agreed not as good as TGWO or OON, however it is a very consistent album and a very welcome return. Top 3 today Snake Oil, Rabbit Hole and Love Is A Basic Need.

Loving 'All That Remains', such a great song, Danny has really come up with great lyrics and vocals on this, like many of the songs, this is heart wrenching stuff.
I have to agree about Snake Oil, that is creeping up to be my favourite on the album. I actually prefer the six songs we hadn't heard to the other four, not saying there is anything wrong with these as they are great songs in their own right, I just think the lyrics/vocals are stronger and they have a more classic Embrace sound.
I have listened to it none stop this weekend, what an emotional album.

Wasn't sure what to expect as I actually went out of my way not to hear any teasers! Very impressed with what's been put out....where as "Embrace" was a definite musical departure for the band (and has Richard's stamp all over it IMHO) this album is, as has been stated by members of the band prior to release, definitely an Embrace album! Saying that I think Richard's track "Where you sleeping" could have easily graced the last album and is definitely a nod to the last album. The rest of the album is very much from the Embrace formula - towering choruses, big sounds and powerful lyrics - all very uplifting stuff! There's also some pleasing use of strings and the duet on "Never" is a great contribution, I do wonder why the band hadn't considered that before! It certainly won't topple "The Good Will Out" as their best offering but it's a damn fine job and deserves far more commercial success than it's (most probably) likely to receive. I've got it on both CD and Vinyl and I'd recommend to anyone to go for the vinyl as it brings out the best of the music. Also, whereas on the "Embrace" album, Richard had turned up the volume to 11, this album is much quieter - not a bad thing as really loud recordings can be a bit "in your face" and it really suited the pumped up sound that was offered on that album. This album is more gentle and probably wouldn't suit that treatment. Good job lads and hope to see you on the road this year!!

Really enjoyed the review thanks and agree with much of what you have said. The first 3 songs fit well with the new songs, but LIABN kind of stands out on its own, you can tell this was recorded before the others, but still a great song, just love the heart felt nature of the rest of the album, Embrace at their best.
