First time I saw them was supporting the Manics in the Nynex as was in Manchester in May 1997 (6 weeks after my second child was born). They were on first, then Audioweb, then Mansun and then the Manics. First headline gig would have been a Liverpool one later that year. I've got the tickets upstairs somewhere. Made my new boyfriend go with me.

Reading Festival 1997. They were in the Melody Maker tent late afternoon/early evening on the Sunday. The Verve headlined but Embrace blew them off stage that day.

Mine was in Dublin, 2005. My ex bought tickets for the only gig that wasn't sold out (we live near Brighton), booked a hotel in Temple Bar and we paid a penny each way to fly from Gatwick. I loved every minute and was hooked from then. He hated every minute and wasn't interested in them after that. It was never going to last :-)

It was November 2004. I'd not been to a gig for twenty years or more. Lisa Clarkee lured me in with some tickets to see Embrace at the Royal Court in Liverpool. There was a signing at HMV pre gig and I thought it'd be funny to get my GATNO sandwich board signed. So my first gig, first time meeting the band and first time meeting any boarders all happened on the same night.
I've seen Embrace twenty odd times since, but the Royal Court gig is one of my favourites - the start of something fun and very expensive.

it was a particularly good gig though. I am dead biased to how good the royal court was as a venue.

100 Club in London the week AYGGP came out on Fierce Panda. Right down the front. Got a set list, and talked the Melody Maker photographer (Andy Willsher?) into sending me a copy of their demos. That feels like a lifetime ago.

My first show was SG#4 and #4.5 St. Agnes Head and Pilton Party amazing. Always a reason why I have a soft spot for older Coldplay songs too when Chris Martin played a mostly solo Acoustic set

Glastonbury 2000 on the Pyramid stage before David Bowie. They played loads of songs from Drawn From Memory & I was really impressed. Bowie wasn't bad either.

Leeds festival 2001 I think ( may have the year wrong) It was the year they headlined the 2nd stage, it was rammed and we couldn't get right inside. It was absolutely throwing it down and I made the kids stand there for the full set because I was desperate to see the band. They've never forgiven me.

Gig on the Green in Glasgow 2001. Steve & I had a much needed weekend away & I really wanted to see Marilyn Manson. I was watching some nu-metal band ( I can't even remember who) & Steve said that I *really* had to come & see this band he loved. I had listened to Fireworks & was not that interested to be honest. Then I went to see Embrace in the tent. An epiphany. I went from standing grudgingly at the back of the tent to right down at the front leaving Steve behind. I was hooked from that day on.I've never felt this way about any other band nor made so many friends going to other band's gigs. Thanks to Embrace & every friend I've made along the way. xxx
